This introductory coaching course is designed to explore coaching leadership, recognize qualities and characteristics of leadership, and construct a coaching philosophy to develop a positive leadership foundation.

Goals & Objectives

Goal 1
To provide curriculum and programing that enhances educators, administrators, and coaches’ understanding of the role that culturally relevant approaches to instruction contributes to student-athlete performance, student learning, and the achievement of collective goals. Goal 4 To develop educator, administrator, coach leadership skills in supporting the holistic development of student-athlete. |
Goal 2
To train educators, administrators, and coaches to practice positive leadership that develops mastery through relentless effort, engaging instruction, positive feedback, and student-centered collaboration. Goal 5 To facilitate the development of educator, administrator, coaches’ leadership skills in fostering environments supportive of social justice discourse and action that facilitates student-athlete and community cohesion/building. |
Goal 3
To develop the educator, administrator, and coaches’ skills to create a community culture, which strengthens and supports the mental health and wellbeing of the program/campus. |
